A Once Railway, Market and Harbour Town ...

One of the main streets ...

... The Platt with its bunting up

The facade in keeping over time; but within many a change

Viaducts, vanes and vales

And absolutely no malls this time round with my sister unable to drive ... another op on a joint to ease the burden as the Consultant puts it 'shot to pieces'

The chalk and cheese of two sisters ... One who shops for a work wardrobe, one just starting to refit back in to walk and sports wear. Hems that are kind, a sweat proof headset and a blister proof fest back in time when a hike or a run was just the usual hurdle ...

Intercity 125

I was very disoriented on the initial start of this latest journey, to Kernow. I stepped onto the train at my towns station, the thought in a moment, of where am I? The train was reminiscent of the intercity 125, I used to get in the days of my youth rail card.  It was not the usual style of train, for the area.

Harbours and Quays of a market town ...

the well known jubilee queen still moored here
over yonder ...
this my scenic cross country circuit;
for both competition and the Duke of Edinburgh Award
... and now a good sedate hike or few ...

the Steady Sunday drizzle

a Father's Day in Kernow

The Saturday on SUNDAY ...

fathers Day
A real busman's break today ... assisting sister in the many house chores: the bed making, ironing, refuse and recycle out, cooking to give Mum a break too. Although Mum did some home baking. I was soak in the bath, after a slow start to the day. I would like to make some Welsh Cakes.

We went on a walk to the top of town. Coronation Park. The request to blow out the cobwebs good and proper.

A Sunday on SATURDAY ...

Fathers Day on a Saturday
we went to lay flowers today, the weather forecast brighter to do so. A wedding party arrival in progress. These guests aplenty asking for directions. We continued on up to the superstore. A trip usually alternated between car and shanks' pony. At this present time while sister is recovering from a hand op, we walked.

Up and down the lanes

by brooks and gardens in vales

One June Friday.

The body getting a good tune up.

In preparation for moving more out the home,
for now lungful so of fresh air

My long awaited

walk a start one way along from Bodmin back to Wadebridge

with Dad we used to walk along the ledge of this bridge with the rivets

Mum would have had kittens

Third day on the Trot

... tucked up in bed early ... this to cope with so much travelling, fresh air, walks and movement plenty. I still find functioning tiring. It is much easier to snuggle up with a dead hubby. It is much more difficult to move on without the daily contact of the one you selected to spend your life with.

Yes, my being has wandered beyond this, it feels strange.

The day after the travel before

...a settling in day with a walk to the out of town superstore up the top of the town with fantastic views of the country side including the distant Bodmin Moor ...

A Kentish trackside view ... at the start of the journey

A gentle breeze rippling

in this night ...

It was lovely to arrive in the light this particular journey last evening  ... from a Kentish Town via a capital city to a Cornish town. The mode of transport mainly on a coach, this gives a higher vantage point of things you do not see lower down to the road.

The English landscape of crop rotation. The industrial side only a tad, in the West Contry. The out of town retail parks, souless and unifies the country. The caravans on the road, from their long dusty wait on driveways on their travels. The usual roadside breakdowns, a few. The lorries carrying industrial to small size loads; that keep our food supplies and more in that background cycle of schedules of routines and rituals

On arriving in the county of Cornwall

A lot of Cornish flags were flying. A few England. The roads dwindling into narrow bendy lanes at times, after mainly driving on motorways filtering into dual ways. The well worn signage also silently tells you are further way from the capital of GB or UK

All tucked up cosy in bed

a shatteringly scattery time

I have been rather silly today ... at least safely at my destination

Dreckly

Yep we are held up in the usual place

Plymouth

This is Country now

where it gets interesting

In Red Soil County

68 miles to Bodmin

The expanses of ...

open spaces

It is lovely and spacious out of town. This is contradictory and conflicting. Those who do not understand being cooped up inside. I am loving the wide openess. I am currently travelling through England on the motorways from London Victoria through the Home Counties onto the West Country

... Dawn of Day in time ...

... The one of the two days taken up with the travelling ...
... As yet not sure whether it commences, due to the fact of a previous same trip

We will see how this one goes ... ?

Fellow Conversations

on getting up on time to catch the allotted time for a coach  ... a fellow traveller having three alarms going off ..
as we both awaited the arrival of said coach in a Cornish town

I was departing back home ... they were on their holidays starting the journey to Norway ...

Spain

finally a summer destination for daughters first holiday without doing home clears or charity work ... for a while ... An invite from the foster sister some while back.

Today her boyfriend and I have been looking at Google Earth, where she lives with her family with the annual holidays to this area. The brown landscape, with the purple pink lake, the communal swimming pool for swimming. The beach too not far away ...

A chance for some long overdue time out to explore etc., for her too ...

Juggling invisible balls

I will no doubt

rearrange my hand luggage .. I have evolved over post crisis time ... It is working out going in June ... I am an off peak person ... reclimatising to peak times again ...

However, it is travelling into a London borough for now, to pay our respects at the paternal tradition  of the scattering of ashes ... some quiet reflection and a special meal with the special people in the life of my mother in law ...

apart from her late son who departed before her  ... something whatever age your child, for a Mum a time best not seen ... the whole spectrum of a birth, life and the end experience ... and far beyond ...

I have yet to pack,

usually way ahead
in tedious track.
Thy second nature
instead, is instilling
my stead, laid back
enjoy, the beautiful days
before the away in a stay.

In anticipation...

I had a review of

medication to update the quality of life, which far outweighs the negative impact in health benefits. I do not like poisoning my body at the best of times. I have reacted to medication. I go with caution.

This complex dilemma was dealt with today, ready for travelling. The fresh air will help. My mind with the travels now to come.

A few trips in the planning too, one in the fall, and time with daughter local and further afield ...

And the biggest of all ... The next steps in visiting here ...  instead of there ...

Not quite packed yet ...

though thoughts beyond
this day are starting
to think what to get.
I already chucked
in a jigsaw puzzle
 for Mum, the rest
will follow suit.
My travels past
will again be,
a difference in thee
I strive to see.
Plans in progress
for new afar,
As life opens up ajar

of us, who become one,

after time with another
the ease for me alone,
in travelling from
this very abode
in one way now.
The bittersweet style
of the now gone,
hideous stupendous piles
the way of a suitcase out,
I can go at my pace,
to travel by rail to road
from that time eroded in space ...
now disappeared in a steady pace ...

A soon I will embark

on a journey or few
inside out
and outside in,
now with some kinfolk
instead the wall aspoke
for a while a least
then back I feast
on more the piece
of a tattered life
severely shattered
past in peace.
